CECIL'S DEATH, SYMBOL OF ZIMBABWE

Cecil was a beautiful animal, of a very rare species, with a black mane. He was very loved by tourists, he was 13 years old and he lived inside the Hwange National Park, the protected park he was lured out with a bait on July 1st. He was found dead during the first week of July thanks to his gps implanted in his neck. Cecil was featured in a study program of Oxford University and the gps allowed researchers to monitor  his movements.

The American dentist Walter Palmer paid almost € 50.000 to illegally kill the lion. After he shot the animal with bow and arrows, they tracked him down for several hours and eventually shot him down. Not happy, they beheaded and skinned him so that he could have an horrifying hunting trophy. The two men who allowed this atrocity, the guide Theo Bronkohorst and the owner of the hunting reserve where the lion was found dead will be accused of poaching.

Cecil era un esemplare bellissimo,di una specie molto rara, dalla criniera nera.Molto amato dai turisti aveva 13 anni e viveva all'interno Hwange National Park, il parco per animali protetto da cui è stato attirato fuori con un esca il primo luglio.
E' stato ritrovato morto nella prima settimana di luglio grazie al gps che aveva al collo.Cecil rientrava in un programma di studi dell'University of Oxford e il gps consentiva ai ricercatori di monitorare i suoi spostamenti.

Ha sborsato circa 50.000 euro il dentista americano Walter Palmer per uccidere illegalmente il leone.
Dopo averlo colpito con arco e frecce, lo hanno seguito per molte ore e alla fine gli hanno sparato. Non contenti l'hanno decapitato e scuoiato cosi da poter avere il suo raccapricciante trofeo di caccia.
Verranno accusati di caccia di frodo i due che hanno permesso questa atrocità,la guida Theo Bronkhorst e il proprietario della riserva di caccia dove il leone è stato trovato morto.
